KAAD Welcomes Chuck Butter

We’re every excited to welcome Chuck Butter to the KAAD gang. You can hear him every Wednesday evening from 7 to 9pm, bringing you Music Talks, featuring a variety of music genres and conversation about many different subjects relating to music.

Chuck is a seasoned engineer/producer/ multi-instrumentalist with over 30 years’ experience in the music business. Born and raised in Paris, France he studied sound engineering and electronics in college before starting his career in some of Paris’ major recording studios working alongside nationally acclaimed producers and artists.

Chuck moved to California right before the turn of the century and continued his work in the music world. He was chief engineer at San Francisco’s legendary High Street studios while also running his own music production business. He is credited in dozens of recordings as Engineer, Producer or Musician. Over the years, he was lucky enough to work with the likes of Francis Ford Coppola, Willie Nelson, 50 Cent, Metallica, Joan Baez, Mark Kozelek (Red House Painters, Sun Kil Moon), Rufus Wainwright, Sound Tribe Sector Nine, Angelo Moore (Fishbone), Da Brat, Eddie Kramer (Jimi Hendrix), Joe Chicarelli (Beck, U2, Elton John), Walter Afanasieff (Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Michael Bolton), Mercury Recording Equipment, SAE (School of Audio Engineering), Ex’pression College For Digital Arts, the New York MET, The San Francisco Opera House, Todd Roper (Cake), Jon Evans (Tori Amos) to name a few.

Chuck now resides in the beautiful California mountains where he is an active member of his vibrant community teaching music and production online, in person, and at Curtis Creek Elementary. He also plays many live gigs with the Gary Souza Band and continues to work with musicians worldwide.
