February 2025 – Coming Soon to KAAD!
Equestrian Arts
For the next two weeks, Earlene and Stan Smith team up on Equestrian Arts to talk about two of their heroes.
This week Stan recalls the days of his youth sitting around a black and white flickering television with all the kids in the neighborhood.
Gradually, the image of Roy Rogers and Trigger would come into view. Everyone was spellbound, including Stan.
Tune in this week to hear about Roy’s life on Friday, January 31st at noon and on Monday, February 3rd at 10am.
Next week, Earlene discusses her childhood idol, Dale Evans. She was beautiful, a talented musician and a great horsewoman. Earlene was enthralled.
Hear more about Dale Evan’s life story on Thursday, February 6th, Friday, February 7th at noon, and Monday, February 10th at 10am on KAAD-LP, 103.5 FM or streaming live here on our site.

Special Programming
If you missed it or would like to hear it again, Tom Strother, with an assist from sound guys Richard Sholer and Forrest Stanley, recorded and edited the MLK Motherlode 2025 performance on Saturday, January 18th.
Dr. Nikum Pon, a refugee from Cambodia’s Pol Pot era, gave the keynote address: “From Bias to Belonging: Nurturing Dr. King’s Vision of Community.” Born in Cambodia during the time of the “killing fields,” Dr. Pon’s family defied incredible odds to escape to the U.S. when he was a child. Dr. Nikum Pon has since dedicated his life to empowering underserved communities, recently returning to Cambodia to establish schools for those in need.
