An Old Friend Returns
KAAD is excited to welcome prolific actor Frank Collison to the stage during our holiday fundraiser: An Old Time Radio Variety Show.
While Frank is best known for his role in Doctor Quinn, Medicine Woman as the telegrapher Horace Bing, he has graced the stage and screen alike since the tender age of just 6 months! Frank has worked in over 150 productions, including roles in regional theater and off broadway productions.
Frank Collison and Ellen Stewart met at San Francisco State, performing in David Purdy’s play Requiem. Frank soon after joined KAAD founder Purdy when he began as an English and Drama instructor at Columbia College, with Frank assisting Jim Kindle in the Learning Skills Department. During his time at Columbia, Frank played many roles for the new drama department, ranging from Puck in Midsummer Night’s Dream to Reverend Parris in The Crucible.
After a five year stint, Frank left Columbia to study for his Master of Arts in Theatre at the University of San Diego. With that degree in hand, he joined a series of professional touring companies and played roles in repertory companies around the country. Frank then found his way to Hollywood, where he began his life as a film actor.
You’ll probably recognize his face from any number of films and television shows, but perhaps he is most closely associated with the role of Horace Bing on Doctor Quinn, Medicine Woman. More recently, Frank has made appearances as a guest star on Twin Peaks, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Young Sheldon, American Horror Story and many more.
Frank makes a return to Sonora to see old friends and to assist KAAD in its fundraising efforts. Toward that end, he has written a short piece about the Christmas truce in 1914 in the trenches of France. You won’t want to miss this spectacular stage performance, so get your tickets to the Old Time Radio Variety Show on our website today!
