FCC APPLICATIONS
In 2021, KAAD applied to the FCC for a full-power, non-commercial educational license to broadcast from the Twain Harte area. KAAD received an FCC Permit to Construct in 2022, with a deadline of November, 2025 by which time the new station must begin broadcasting.
KAAD has chosen to pass that permit to the Greater Good Cultural Exchange, a group that has been involved in local cultural events since 2011. Greater Good, in turn, has received call letters. The new station will be known as KFUT and as a full power station, will broadcast to a large part of our county.
How will this affect KAAD?
Our “talk” programing will be heard on KFUT, starting soon at kfut.org, with many of our music programs to follow on the stream. With everything in place by November, you’ll be able to access KAAD’s programs at 103.5fm and 89.5fm, in addition to the kaad-lp.org stream. We think it’s a win-win for both groups.
Below is a required statement announcing the assignment of the construction permit to The Greater Good Cultural Exchange, Inc.
On May 27, 2025, Mother Lode Community Radio, applicant for a new non-commercial educational FM radio station on 89.5 FM, Twain Harte, California, filed an application with the Federal Communications Commission for assignment of the station’s construction permit to The Greater Good Cultural Exchange, Inc., a California non-profit corporation.
